Keepsake Bottle with North Sea Water and Sand with Scottish Marble Necklace
Scottish Marble: 10 x 10mm
Keepsake bottle jar with bail: 2 inches
16 inch copper chain with 3 inch extender
On a wonderful vacation we spent in Scotland we went to visit St Andrews Castle on the North Sea. Found this little beach area where I gathered some water and sand from the North Sea. The bottle is sealed with a piece of Scottish Marble.
Scottish Green Marble comes from the West coast islands of Iona, Tiree and Skye and the Scottish Highlands. For centuries it has been prized by fisherman. On the Isle of Iona they would not leave port without a piece of this stone.
It is also known as the "jewel of the Fae". As legend would have it, to collect without permission one risk being whisked away to the land of Faery never to be heard from again.
